Helping Your Child Aim Higher

The Aldersley Advantage programme provides all students with a structured Personal Development offer that complements their academic studies. It is designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and experiences they need to thrive in school and beyond, fostering confidence, resilience, and ambition.

Aldersley High School - Extra Activities

PSHE & RSHE

Delivered in line with school policy, this programme covers Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural (SMSC) development, relationships, health, and well-being. Students explore topics that build character, understanding, and respect for others, ensuring they are prepared for life in modern society.

Assembly & Academic Sessions

Students participate in assemblies and academic sessions covering British values, safeguarding, personal development themes, and academic mentoring. These sessions reinforce key learning, encourage personal reflection, and help students set high expectations for themselves in all areas of school life.

Ambition

Students receive guidance, employability skills, and career exploration to prepare for their next steps. Each September, students complete a Clear Career Path activity, allowing them to discuss their chosen career aspirations and hobbies with their tutors. This information is made available to all staff to support personalised guidance. Weekly Life Skills sessions include relationship-building activities with tutors, helping students develop essential interpersonal skills and confidence.

Articulate

Our structured Articulate programme enhances literacy, comprehension, and communication skills, while fostering a love of reading and discussion. Texts are carefully selected by the AHT link for Reading in each school to provide students with Cultural Capital, broaden their understanding of the world, and support both academic success and personal growth.
