Aldersley’s Drama Department
The Drama Team at Aldersley are creative, inspiring and energetic, showing true dedication and support to all of our students. We believe that all students should have the opportunity to pursue their creativity and have opportunities for cultural enrichment through the experiences we offer in Drama.
The knowledge we impart, the challenges we give our students, and the practical skills we teach them, provide transferrable skills which will help our students in their further education, higher education and future careers. Achievement and progress in Drama is outstanding and students achieve either in line with or beyond expected progress at KS4. The Drama curriculum is focused around creating, performing, responding and evaluating. Further study is available at Post-16 as we offer A Level Drama and Theatre Studies.
There are a number of opportunities for students to attend extra-curricular activities in Drama, including Drama Club, KS4 Period 7, school production rehearsals and external visits to see live theatre.
In 2018 we were extremely proud of the Drama outcomes as 100% of the students studying Drama achieving their target grade or above and some of our students achieving the very top Distinction star levels. Our students thoroughly enjoy studying Drama here at Aldersley and the passion that staff and students have for this subject is exemplary.
