Commonwealth Baton Exchange
We had a fantastic day at Aldersley being able to experience the commonwealth baton. Over the past few weeks the baton has been transported around schools with each school carrying the baton to the next school and representing a commonwealth country. Today we got to represent Ghana and have our amazing athletes carry the baton to Aldersley Leisure Village. As Dovecotes primary school delivered the baton to us they were greeted by our fantastic athletes. These students were selected to receive the baton due to their excellent commitment and passion to sport inside and outside of school.
As our students walked through with the baton we had all of our year 7 students cheering them on and holding the commonwealth flags. Our amazing year 11 dancers then put on a fantastic performance in the sun for all of year 7 and the baton carriers to watch. The students carrying the baton and wearing Ghana colours and flags then walked to Aldersley Leisure Village for the final stop of the commonwealth baton journey. It was a fantastic memorable day for our students who thoroughly loved being part of the experience.
