Student councils from both Moreton School and Aldersley High School came together to form the Amethyst Academies Trust Student Council to taste test some new menu ideas and provide feedback on the current menu available at both establishments.  Students had the opportunity to taste some new vegetarian options in the newly refurbished dining room at Moreton School and options available for them to try included Salmon Fish Cakes, Onion Bhaji Burgers and Vegetarian Soy Curry pots.  Every student had to provide feedback, at each station which included either giving a dish a star rating, rating it out of 0-10 or even writing down what they like or don’t like about what they had tried.  The council was also able to sample a range of ‘Love Joes Chicken’ and the ‘Crispy Chicken Strips, Chicken Popems and Mediterranean’ proved to be the most popular.

School Menu’s across both sites are being scrutinised by council members to see whether it meets the needs of all students, their dietary requirements and provides value for money.   The student voice is essential for the facility to constantly be looking at ways to improve and make sure there is something for everyone on the menu.  The catering team look forward to continuing to work with the council and sharing the results with them.
