Aldersley High becomes a UK Enthuse STEM Hub

In early 2020, Aldersley High School were awarded the STEM Partnership UK Enthuse hub school for the Wolverhampton City area.  Lead by Mr Edwards and Mr Mangat, the partnership is designed to bring together schools from across the city to improve young people’s attainment and engagement in STEM subjects, develop awareness, and understanding of STEM careers, and raise aspirations.

The partnership consists of Aldersley High School, Moreton School, Our Lady and St Chads, Colton Hills, Woodthorne Primary, St Mary’s Primary, and St Paul’s Primary, developing transition between key stages from KS2, through to KS5, and beyond.

Through the partnership, schools will have access to £20,000 worth of support, including a range of STEM Learning UK CPD, teacher placements in STEM industry and universities, access to industry ambassadors to work with schools and students on life.

Industry sponsors in Collins Aerospace, based on Stafford Road, are supporting the partnership. This is a great opportunity to improve the life chances for the young people of our city. Collins are offering to support school in the partnership with two industry mentors, who will work with schools to provide a range of events and opportunities to students and the Design Technology & Engineering curriculums within the partnership to ensure that our students are ready for the world of work in the STEM sector within our city.
